Brick by Brick - ΑΦ Beta Rho HCB Fundraiser
Organized by: Carolyn Illman
The Alpha Phi Beta Rho HCB is raising money to provide a much needed modernization for our facility. The House Corporation Board who manages the chapter house strives to provide a comfortable home for our collegiate members, as well as amenities that are competitive with other facilities on campus. In order to help expedite our next projects for the chapter facility, we're asking our sisters to help. We are offering a unique opportunity- for $500, we will personalize a tile in the new walkway in your honor (you can provide custom text). Plans to improve the house include a major curb appeal makeover. The completed project will make a big statement during recruitment as well. Prospective members will walk up to the house and literally view all the support Alpha Phi provides.
We are also offering 2 more tiers with the opportunity to attend Celebratory events:
$50 - Ticket to the Ribbon Cutting & Unveiling of our Improvements in Pullman
$250 - Ticket to Ribbon Cutting as well as Exclusive Event in Seattle
$500 - Ticket to Ribbon Cutting, Exclusive Event and Custom Tile in Walkway
With this in mind, any donation is appreciated.
We have been working hard to maintain a safe living environment for our members. Over the last summer we have undertaken an urgent construction project to reinforce the main floor with a 900 pound beam- it could no longer support all of our members on the first floor for events like chapter, philanthropies or recruitment. The cost of this project and related summer updates was around $100k which was a large portion of the House Corporation Board’s cash funds. This Fall we also experienced a plumbing leak behind the cabinets across from the kitchen; this meant we needed to rip out the cabinets, repair the plumbing, wall, and remove any signs of damage, which was an unplanned expense.
Other improvements for the facility include new bedroom furniture, painting, Living Room revamp, House Director's Apartment, Landscaping, and other aesthetic upgrades. The House Corporation Board of the Beta Rho Chapter is a 501(c)(7) organization. Gifts of tiles or other donations are NOT tax-deductible.
