BENEFITING: ALS Association Greater New York Chapter
ORGANIZER: ALS Association Greater New York Chapter
It's July and training season has begun! I am running the New York Marathon once again. And, I also have the privilege of running with Team ALS in honor of my father-in-law, Robert "Bob" Olson. As many of you know, we lost Bob to ALS in 2013.
I am running for those who can't. Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a progrssive, fatal, neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2-5 years from the time of diagnosis. Every 90 minutes, someone is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes someone will lose their battle with this disease.
I want to help gain awareness of this disease so that one day we can find a way to fight, cure, or even better prevent ALS! Thank you all for visiting my page and donating! It means more than you know for all fighting and all those who have fought!
