Study abroad and summer internship in Copenhagen
Organized by: Alycia Bouchard
Next semester, I will be studying abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark and have just been offered the opportunity to extend my stay for a summer internship at Rysensteen Gymnasium, a Danish upper secondary school. Rysensteen has a unique educational model, considering itself to be "a place in the big city and a springboard to the world," with its innovative Global Citizenship Program aimed at fostering mutual understanding and world citizenship. One of their partners in the program is Project Rousseau, the mentoring organization that I am involved with, which mentors underserved and high-potential youth. Each year some of Project Rousseau's mentees are given the opportunity to participate in an exchange program at Rysensteen, and I am extremely excited that this year my mentee, Kiara, is going! As part of my internship, I will be organizing a college application and SAT bootcamp for both Danish students and Project Rousseau mentees in Copenhagen!
As someone passionate about education and international affairs, this presents a great opportunity to learn from another nation's thriving educational system, so I can apply my work to my own education and mentoring experiences in the U.S. Unfortunately, the internship experience is costly, between living expenses and summer tuition (since the internship counts as credits towards my major).
I would greatly appreciate a donation to help with the costs of my study abroad and summer internship - any amount will help! Thank you very much for your support, and happy holidays!
