EVENT DATE: Oct 25, 2016
This year, starting on Sunday, September 25, I will be participating in the One Grey Dress Project. For one month, I will be wearing the same grey dress. This one dress will symbolize the lack of choice victims of sexual trafficking face. I have pledged to wear the same grey dress, along with hundreds of other women and men, to feel a small portion of the isolation and oppression that is felt by women in these horrible situations. As always, there are a few people skeptical of the project. How is it fair that I get to wash my dress or style it differently every day, one might ask? Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but as I see it, I will be raising money and awareness either way. Additionally, the One Grey Dress Project inspires social change and forces people to face the harsh reality of these situations.
