Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! On March 19, 2016, Team Alyssa's Minions and I will be competing in the Pound the Pavement for Peter 5K Run, in conjunction with the Public Half/Full Marathon. We are excited to be racing along side the Kyle Pease Foundation and their friends.
The purpose of the Kyle Pease Foundation (KPF) is to create awareness and raise funds to promote success for persons with disabilities by providing assistance to meet their individual needs through sports. Programs may include scholarship opportunities, purchasing of medical equipment or adaptive sports equipment for others or contributing to other organizations that provide similar assistance to disabled persons as well as participating in educational campaigns to create awareness about Cerebral Palsy and other disabilities. KPF will provide these services directly to individuals as well as to partner with other existing non-profit organizations to achieve these goals. Direct benefits will be limited to persons with disabilities who need adaptive sports equipment, mobility devices or medical care.
TEAM ALYSSA RUNNING FOR CELESTE has partnered with KPF / Atlanta Tri Club and is fundraising for the Downs Association of Atlanta (DSAA). Alyssa's Minions will be running in a family fun 5K the day before the Publix Half/Full Marathon on March 19, 2016. This event is held to raise awarness and funds to help families and children with disabilities and debilitating diseases.
Celeste's mission and DSAA's mission were one in the same:
Our Mission: is to educate, unite our community, and build bridges between worlds, so that individuals with Down syndrome and their families are connected to opportunities for an amazing life.
Last year the Kyle pease Foundation took 22 families/racers to the start line along with a host of volunteers. With your help we can make this even bigger than last year. Every dollar helps and is 100% tax-deductible!
So join Celeste's family in supporting "ALYSSA RUNNING FOR CELESTE". We are extremely appreciative of your continued support
