BENEFITING: ALZHEIMERS ASSOCIATION
ORGANIZER: ALZHEIMERS ASSOCIATION
EVENT: 2015 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 20, 2015
On April 20, 2015, I am going to run my first marathon, which will also happen to be the 119th running of the Boston Marathon. I've decided to run the marathon in support of the Alzheimer's Association because the research and programs they support are a cause that means a lot to me, my wife Kelli, and our families.
Kelli and I have, unfortunately, seen the suffering that Alzheimer's causes firsthand. Both of our maternal grandmothers suffered from this insidious disease, so we know all too well the symptoms it brings about and the toll that it takes on families. I'm running for my grandmother Paule Wilson, Kelli's grandmother Joyce Spangler, as well as both of our mothers and the rest of our family members who handled such a diffcult disease with patience, dignity, and love.
I really appreciate your willingness to support me and a cause that I care about. When I hit Heartbreak Hill around Mile 20 (hopefully about 3 hours after I start), I know I'll be sustained by your support. Thank you.
