Thank you for visiting my page!
On April 20, 2015, I will be running the 119th Boston Marathon! I am honored and excited to be running on behalf of the Alzheimer’s Association. My mom has been a full-time caregiver to a woman with early onset Alzheimer's disease and I have seen firsthand how terrible this disease truly is. I am running for those suffering but also running for all of the caregivers who dedicate their lives to make this disease a little less painful.
Over 5 million Americans suffer from Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s disease is a degenerative and fatal disease of the brain for which there is currently no cure. People with Alzheimer’s disease slowly lose their abilities to remember, to think, to communicate and to care for themselves. Ultimately, they become totally dependent on others for their daily care.
But, there is hope and promise for the future. The Alzheimer’s Association is working hard to promote and fund research efforts to find a cure. In the meantime, we need your help and support to provide programs and services for people with Alzheimer’s disease and their families. I am writing to ask you to join me in my race against Alzheimer’s disease.
Thank you in advance for your generous support!
