BENEFITING: Alzheimer's Association
EVENT: 2017 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 17, 2017
On May 26th, 2014 we lost my Mother-in-Law Margie Steele to this terrible disease at the young age of 58. Through the years of knowing Margie she was so full of life and energy. She could brighten any room in which she walked into. She always had a smile on her face.
Through every step of the way the Alzheirmer's Association was there to support us. To answer questions we may have had, with their 24/7 line. They were able to provide resources when we needed them and could shed light on how to handle some of the further progression of the disease.
We have been to many information sessions which the association holds and have learned so much about what new research is going on with the money which is raised by fundraising. Just recently, the Alzherimer's Assocation has started it's first ever Prevention Trial because of generosity like yours.
This April 2017, I will be running my 3rd Boston Marathon for the Alzheimer's Association. Each year in which I have a chance to run Boston it gives me the oppurtunity to run for such a great cause and I am honored to have the oppurtunity to run again to raise money and awareness for the Alzheimer's Association.
Please consider donating to such a great cause. One that I am proud to support myself. On April 17th I will be running in the Memory of Margie. Thank you for your support!
Alzheimer's disease is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States, and affects millions of people daily. More than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's. Currently, there is no cure. The first survivor of Alzheimer's is out there, but we won't get there without you.
In 2016 the RUN TRI RIDE to End Alzheimer's raised over $1.2 million to support programs and services for those impacted with the disease. The 2017 Boston Marathon team is determined to continue this tradition of success, as we celebrate our 16th year!
