EVENT: 2017 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 17, 2017
I am running the Boston Marathon this year in dedication to our best friends the Smalanskas family and to raise money to fight Alzheimers. Jim Smalanskas, a classmate of mine at MIT, and a friend for over 25 years was recently diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's at age 55. Jim is an inspiration with his commitment to fight off this terrible disease and running the marathon is my way of showing support to Jim and his family. Please help me reach my goal of raising $20,000 for Alzheimer's Association MA/NH.
The Alzheimer's Association MA/NH Chapter is proud to announce that members of our "Run to End Alzheimer's - Boston 2017" team are running in the 121st Boston Marathon® on April 17, 2017. The Boston Marathon is the world's oldest annual marathon and ranks as one of the world's most prestigious road racing events.
Alzheimer's disease is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States, and affects millions of people daily. More than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's. Currently, there is no cure. The first survivor of Alzheimer's is out there, but we won't get there without you.
