According to the Alzheimer’s Association, 6 in 10 people with dementia will wander. Alzheimer’s erodes the memory so a person may not remember their name or address. They can become disoriented, even in familiar places, as well as acting combative once approached. Allowing a person with dementia to wander is dangerous, but there are strategies and services to help prevent them from getting lost. That is where Alzheimer’s Outreach Group can help.

AOG has been organized to help with creating a network throughout the state of Alabama to provide transmitter bracelets or wrist transmitters to all diagnosed dementia patients, at little to no cost.
