EVENT: Pittsburgh Marathon 2016
EVENT DATE: May 01, 2016
In 2009 my Grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Seeing a strong-willed and capable woman become more and more dependent on our help as the disease progresses is agonizing. It is so unbelievably cruel and torturous to watch someone who was once so full of love and life to be whittled away by this hideous disease a tiny bit at a time. My Grandmother doesn’t recognize me anymore and she can barely speak but she always says “I Love You” before I leave. This is really all I have left of the woman who taught me how to bake, read me bedtime stories, and loved me unconditionally.
This is the harsh reality of this disease – It takes away every precious memory and leaves you with anger, confusion, and sadness. Together we can beat this disease - Thank you for your time and donations!
