EVENT: Pittsburgh Marathon 2016
EVENT DATE: May 01, 2016
I have always said the Alzheimer's disease is the worst disease in existence. Why, some may ask? It's because this disease takes everything you hold dearest in your heart and mind. It takes memories...vivid, happy, brilliant memories of times spent with your loved ones. It takes self-control completely away, it takes independence and privacy, it takes strength (mental and physical), and it takes the person away to a place no one wants to go. I have vowed to do all I can do to improve the lives of all those affected my ALZ disease and this is just one small way in fulfilling that promise.
Last year I lost my grandmother to Alzheimer's. She was a great women and a very important part of my life. It was terrible to see how she deteriorated after fighting the disease for over 5 years. I would never want to see that happen again, so please if you could spare anything to help this amazing organization I would greatly appreciate it! Help keep my grandmothers legacy alive by keeping up the fight to rid this disease off the earth once and for all!!
