As many of you know, I have been running the Boston Marathon for several years. This year, for my 10th Boston run, I decided to run in support of a cause I care about both personally and professionally.
On April 20, 2015, I will be running as a member of the AMAA Boston Marathon Running team. As a member of this team, I have a fundraising goal of $5,000 to support the Youth Fitness Program.
The Youth Fitness Program supports youth outreach programs, and in particular, the National Run A Mile Day event, which is held annually. The funds raised for the Youth Fitness Program benefit elementary and middle-school aged children, especially in lower income schools, and are targetted towards increasing activity levels and encouraging them to have fun with running and excercise. I am inspired by the Youth Fitness Program's effort to combat obesity and inactivity in children and help them build a strong foundation for a heathly adult lifestyle; and I am excited about the contribution that my team of medical and health professionals can come together to make.
I hope you will consider supporting me in this effort, and thank you in advance for your donation!
