Thank you for donating in honor of our B'nei Mitzvah to support at-risk youth in Colombia! EMpower focuses on empowering young people (ages 10-24) in emerging market countries. By partnering with locally-led organizations, EMpower provides critical resources and support to at-risk young people -- like those who are affected by poverty, face discrimination or violence.
To improve opportunities for these young people, EMpower funds programs in education, health and well-being and job training. Since 2000, EMpower has invested almost $7,600,000 in Latin America, enabling over 35,000 young people to receive needed schooling, stay healthy, get a job or start a micro-business, and to break the cycle of poverty in their households and communities.
Your donation will go towards the five amazing programs EMpower supports in Colombia:
Centro de Educación e Investigación para el Desarrollo Comunitario Urbano y Rural (CEDECUR) provides job readiness and income generation training, including training in non-traditional fields for young women.
Corporación para la Atención Integral de la Niñez (Corpolatin) works to stop abuse through psychosocial care, prevention and education, running a hotline and online platform for young people to access help and services.
Fundación Artística y Social La Familia Ayara uses hip hop as a tool for personal development, education, self-expression, and income generation for young people.
Fundación Tiempo de Juego provides young people in and around the violent neighborhoods of Soacha with positive alternatives for their free time, and uses Soccer for Hope methodology in schools to provide youth with coping and other life skills.
Fútbol con Corazón combines soccer for development with a nutrition program, health and life skills workshops, links to vocational training, counseling, and community outreach.
Thank you so much for your support! EMpower ensures that 100% of all donations go directly to making a real difference on the ground. Visit their website to learn more: www.empowerweb.org.
