Amanda's Tanzania Fund
Organized by: Amanda Houser
EVENT DATE May 17, 2014
As many of you know, I will be spending three months this summer in Tanzania, fulfilling my Masters in Public Health practicum requirement! I will be helping launch an outreach project called “No More Orphans” in an attempt to reduce maternal mortality during childbirth. I will be working with the Nkoaranga Hospital, the Tanzanian government, rural village birth attendants, and The Small Things, a partner of the Nkoaranga Orphanage where I will be staying.
The Small Things is a registered non-profit organization providing support, education, and care to the incredible children, staff, and volunteers at Nkoaranga Orphanage. Their mission is based around the idea that while we cannot singlehandedly change the world, we can do small things that make a big difference. The orphanage houses up to 30 children and depends entirely on donations for funding. That is why I have pledged to raise $1,500 to be donated to The Small Things! With that being said, I am relying on my friends and family to help me reach my goal. I would love if you joined me in making a difference in the lives of these children.
I am so grateful to have been given this amazing opportunity. Thank you for your donations, support, thoughts, and prayers. Words cannot express how excited I am to meet all of the children and spend my summer serving others!
