Philip and I will be married for 7 years on July 7th (07-07-07) this year. For about 5 years now we have been really trying to have children of our own. Due to medical reasons I haven't been able too. We have also been through a couple adoption situations that weren’t God's timing. We believe this is our year of completion! Although, I had surgery to help with having children of our own, we always had a heavy heart to help children in need. (James 1:27)
Recently, we were given two little girls to care for. Here is our story.
Monday April 14th - We received a call from our previous Pastor regarding the girls. We agreed to meet the girls and talk about everything with the grandparents. We prayed that God would let us know if this would be His timing and not ours, that we would feel an immediate connection with them.
Tuesday April 15th - We met them at a restaurant and played in the playroom. We were there for a couple hours playing and it felt like we had always known the girls like they were our own the whole time.
Friday April 18th - We picked up the girls for the "weekend" to see how things would go with the girls. To "try" it out as parents and to establish a relationship with them.
Sunday April 20th - We call to return the girls and planned to get them again the following weekend to continue the bonding/trust time with them. Also to give me enough time to return to work on April 22nd from medical leave, arrange a babysitter, and to get things in order for their room. We called and the grandparents asked us if we could just keep them. Things happened with the mother at the house and didn't want the girls around it. We thought it would just be in their best interest to stay with us so they wouldn't be around whatever went on. Because of that, I had to quit my job since I could afford a babysitter being off work for so long or even find one on such short notice.
Tuesday April 29th - We were signed over temporary guardianship of the girls. We got to meet the bio-mom and heard her story and we have had them ever since. The mother would like for us to take them as our own and raise them since she isn't able to provide for them or give them the love like we can.
God has provided us with everything we needed for the girls so far, friends and family have helped so much with their supplies, toys, beds, and clothes.
We want to get a lawyer to see what our next step would be to get them permanently as our own forever.
So we are doing this fundraiser to help out with the expenses, legal fees. And whatever else comes our way.
We need your help, not just financially, most importantly, we need your prayers!
Thank you in advance!
