Hello! I am a Seven Tepees Youth Program graduate from the class of 2008. This past Spring I completed my undergraduate studies at San Francisco State University, obtaining two Bachelor Degrees in International Relations and Criminal Justice. From 2008 to 2013 I financed my education through scholarships and working close to full time. During the 5 years of attending SFSU, I made ‘dean’s list’ numerous times as well as completed two successful internships- with the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office and as the Legislative Aide intern to Mayor Ed Lee’s Senior Staff. I know without a doubt that the next stop for me is Law School. I have a very strong passion for legal studies, law practice and advocacy for minorities.
Since my undergraduate graduation in May 2013, I have begun to study for the December 2013 LSAT. I am currently working two jobs, totalling anywhere from 40 to sometimes 52 hours a week, in order to cover my expenses for law school applications and LSAT courses.
I believe that anything is possible and I do mean ANYTHING! Therefore I am
pushing myself past all limits- my mentality has always been that success is not achieved overnight and in order to make dreams come true one must grind it out and work hard! Having said all of this, I am still financially struggling to cover the costs of my education dreams. I am writing this to voice out my circumstances and kindly ask for a helping hand.
Completing my undergraduate studies was only the beginning of my promising future and change I so very much want to bring to our society. As I always tell myself, when one inner city minority youth makes it, we all make it and open the doors to endless possibilities!
Thank you for your consideration!
