I can’t begin to thank you e…
I can’t begin to thank you enough for any donation that you’ve made or for sharing my donation page with family and friends. I won’t bother you again until next year but at that time I will again ask that, if you are able, to please donate to our foundation so we can help find better treatments for children suffering from cancer and help prevent them from having the same fate as my son Ty. I understand if money is tight and just ask that you pass our request along to a friend, family member, supervisor or anyone you can think of who might be touched by Ty’s story and able to donate.

Because of the generosity of family and friends we raised over $60,000 from our event. On race day, I was blessed enough to feel Ty during the race running next to me. This was a wonderful feeling, just as wonderful as it was to give a $40,000 check to Dr. Jeffrey Greenfield of the Children’s Brain Tumor Project at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell to fund a full time doctor for the research lab. Please keep the below facts in mind and become an awareness advocate and donor for the fight against pediatric cancer.

· Seven children in the US died from cancer today. Seven more will die tomorrow.

· There is no known cause or prevention for most childhood cancers. Childhood cancer happens at random and it does not discriminate, sparing no ethnic group, socio-economic class or geographic region.

· In the US alone, almost 13,500 children under 21 will be diagnosed with cancer this year. Almost one out of every four will not survive.

· The average age of death for a child with cancer is 8, causing a childhood cancer victim to lose 69 years of expected life years; a significant loss of productivity to society.

· In the past 20 years ONLY ONE new cancer drug has been approved specifically for pediatric cancer. Yet, the incidence of invasive pediatric cancers is up 29 percent in those same 20 years.

Again, I can’t thank you enough for our successful event and we hope next year you can be part of it; by joining our team, competing in the triathlon, running or walking the 5k, volunteering for the event or making a donation. All I ask is that you recognize that we’ve dedicated our lives to finding better treatments for children with cancer, in honor of our son Ty and we need your continued support whether it’d be spreading awareness, volunteering or donating. It all makes a difference.

Thank you.

I’d like to first thank you …
I’d like to first thank you for taking a few minutes of your time to read about my family’s heartache and understand why we ask for your money and why we will never stop. I personally spent about a week editing my fundraising request. Not because it was difficult to edit, rather because it was the first time I went back and re-lived Ty’s passing. I think without the whirlwind and distractions, it may have been as hard to read as it was to live.

I know today multiple families are living that same terrible reality and that sucks! Please think about that and always remember it could have been any of our children, your neighbor’s child, your niece, or your nephew. Most pediatric cancers are not genetic, do not go after specific race, don’t care if you’re a boy or a girl, and the doctors simply cannot give a reason why your child is dying of cancer. This is why we have donated our lives to the cause, so no other parents will have to drive home from the hospital with no other treatment options for their baby. If we can even save one child over the course of our lives, it will be the greatest victory Ty could have ever achieved.

I promise you, 100% of your donation will go towards research for better treatment options, selected by the best researchers involved in pediatric cancer to achieve this goal.

Thank you again for caring,

Louis Campbell
