MY AMAZON STORY: "DAVID VERSUS GOLIATH"
Organized by: NIA D Greene
I am a widow, middle-aged woman and late-bloomer artist/entrepreneurial. I created a cultural board game titled, KWANZAA-O-RAMA 365-days; educational and family-oriented. My motivation behind this board game was: 1)to encourage parents to spend quality time with their kids; 2)to stimulate and provoke a sincere educational drive for black youths, so they may realize their full potential to become outstanding and productive citizens. This has been my dream for over twenty years. in late July 2015, my board games was placed on Amazon website for sale.; a dream come true, ( my thought at that time). Amazon, the mammoth business, is going to confiscate my games and dispose of them, because, I have not met their sale quota of $20,000 in the seven months that my games have been on their website. I invested my life savings into the production of game (manufacturing, shipping cost, insurance & patent filing), thereby leaving me destitute. I need $5,000 to pay Amazon to ship (2500) games to me: if I am unable to pay $5000, Amazon is prepared to confiscate and dispose of my games, and bill me $2000 plus late fees for storage. I desperately need any altruistic kindness from anyone who reads my story, and understand what I am mentally and emotionally going through. Appealing to you, the readers and empathizers for small business owners like myself; I have no other recourse to turn to. I have invested my life savings into the production of my games, not selfishly, but for a great cause: in hind sight, I realize that it was a bad business decision to use my personal savings, (an act of passion), but I felt compelled to do it. I am a humble and grateful humanitarian, requesting a donation from those of you with an altruistic spirit. I would be most appreciative for any kindness you chose to extend to save my dream and investment. Amazon, the mammoth business, has given me a deadline date of March 17, 2016 to pay $5000 for shipping my merchandise to me or it will be confiscated and dispose of. I am overwhelmed with fear, grief and devastation of losing my property to Amazon. PLEASE DONATE whatever you can TO MY CAUSE. Thank you, Sincerely, Nia Greene
