October 19, 2016
In August 2015, my husband, Pat and I decided to start the journey to become foster parents. After some research and lots of learning, we decided to help local children through D.A. Blodgett - St. John's (DABSJ). We are now licensed foster parents! We welcome this change and the challenges that will come with it.
On October 16, 2016, I will be running the Detroit Free Press Talmer Bank Marathon. That's right, 26.2 miles, for all the little people in West Michigan who need the programs provided by DABSJ. I can't possibly help each kiddo who needs it, but I can help raise some of the funds that will get them the help they need. Please consider donating towards this great cause. Help the little feet of West Michigan get to the future they deserve!
I would love to be able to reach $500.00, but if I can surpass my goal, I will be ecstatic!
**Why did we choose We decided to join D.A. Blodgett - St. John's?** D.A. Blodgett - St. John's is a local West Michigan organization that helps families and children. They provide homes for abused and neglected children, assistance for disabled children, counseling, parenting education, mentoring services (Big Brother Big Sisters), and many programs to help children and families. DABSJ was the agency for us, for all of the reasons listed above. However, not only do they provide such great programs for the community, but the people who work with DABSJ really have a passion for helping the little ones living in our neighborhoods.
