BENEFITING: THE TEKESHE FOUNDATION INC
People in the rural areas of Zimbabwe have limited access to health care since hospitals and clinics simply do not have the resources to cater to the medical needs of the communities they serve. Having access to an ambulance means life or death in the rural areas where people die needlessly just because they have no means of getting to a hospital. In 2009 the Tekeshe Foundation donated an ambulance to Rimbi community Clinic in Chipinge Zimbabwe.
We are sad to announce that the ambulance donated was involved in a car accident. This was the only ambulance which operated in the Rimbi clinic catchment area with approximately 10,000 people. Many lives have been saved by having this ambulance available. Now we are concerned that the progress we made by providing transportation by way of ambulance will now be hinder by the accident. Numerous of patients again are now in greater jeopardy of perhaps losing their lives based upon there is no means of transportation.
