Why I ran in orange today
September 18, 2017
BENEFITING: American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
ORGANIZER: American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
I am running the 2017 TCS New York City Marathon in memory of my brother Mitch who we lost to suicide 25 years ago this fall. Mitch's death left everyone around him struggling to understand what they could have done. I want everyone to know that there is hope and there are resources.
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is dedicated to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide. They fund scientific research, educate the public on suicide prevention, advocate for public policy on mental health and provide support to those affected by suicide.
Your donation will help AFSP create a culture that is smart about mental health. I would also encourage you to spend some time on AFSP.org in order to become familiar with some of their material. You never know when you will be in a position to help someone you love.
Thank you for your support. Stay in touch here and on social media for training and fundraising updates.
