Severe flooding is ravaging communities across Southern Louisiana. Sadly, deaths and injuries have been reported and entire families have lost their homes and everything they own in this flooding. The flooding has trapped thousands in their homes, required water rescues of over 20,000 people, and forced thousands of others to evacuate. The Governor has declared a state of emergency for the entire state.
Right now, the Red Cross is hard at work delivering help and hope for people impacted by these floods. We are operating shelters to house and feed thousands of people, as well as distributing relief items and meeting one-one-one with residents to address unique client needs. We are anticipating more than 10,000 homes destroyed or with major damage impacting at least 40,000 people. You can help people affected by the Louisiana floods today. Your support can ensure we can be there in the weeks and months to come, providing hope for families in their darkest hours. Donate to Louisiana Floods today. Thank you.
