Our Mission

Support our mission by creating your own fundraiser.

The ACS combines an unyielding passion with nearly a century of experience to save lives and end suffering from cancer. As a global grassroots force of more than three million volunteers, we fight for every birthday threatened by every cancer in every community.

We save lives by helping people stay well by preventing cancer or finding it early; helping people get well by being there for them during and after a cancer diagnosis; by finding cures through investment in groundbreaking research; and by fighting back by rallying lawmakers to pass laws to defeat cancer and communities worldwide to join the fight.

As the nation's largest non-governmental investor in cancer research, contributing more than $3.5 billion, we turn what we know about cancer into what we do.

We are available day or night, at 1-800-227-2345 or by visiting

About the American Cancer Society

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.

And cancer’s biggest fear? You. When you raise funds for the American Cancer Society, you help us provide services to help people with cancer today while we work to free the world from the pain and suffering of cancer tomorrow.

We support today through programs like the more than 30 Hope Lodge® communities that allow patients a free place to stay when their best hope for effective treatment may be in another city.

We make a difference tomorrow by continuing to invest in lifesaving cancer research. For 70 years, the American Cancer Society has been finding answers that save lives – from changes in lifestyle to new approaches in therapies to improving cancer patients’ quality of life. In fact, no single private, nongovernmental organization in the US has invested more to find the causes and the cures of cancer.

Thank you for joining us in helping us save lives and create a world with less suffering from cancer!

Starting a campaign for the American Cancer Society is so easy, and the best part is that we’re here to help with everything. Check out the fast, easy steps below to get started.

STEP 1 – Start a Campaign

Starting a campaign on CrowdRise is completely free for users and it’s super easy. Start an EVENT page if you’re fundraising in teams, and start a FUNDRAISER page if you’re all in it together (Click Here to learn more about EVENTS and FUNDRAISERS).

STEP 2 – Share your Story

Personalizing your campaign is so key to gaining support. Share your story and experience, and why you support the American Cancer Society. Be sure to add lots of great text, photos and a video to explain your initiative.

Step 3 – Tell the World

Start emailing like crazy and let people know about your cause. Email is the best way to get the word out, but we sure to use social media, Instagram, Snapchat and more to build awareness, recruit fundraisers and gain support for your campaign.

Questions? Email and we’ll be here to help with everything!

Step 1: Start a Fundraiser

You can register and personalize your fundraiser in a matter of minutes. Add stories, videos, or why you’re raising money for the American Cancer Society.

Step 2: Spread the word

Ask your friends and family to help save lives from cancer by supporting your fundraiser. You can even donate to yourself to get the ball rolling.

Step 3: Be a hero

Every dollar you raise gets us one step closer to freeing the world from the pain and suffering of cancer. That makes you part of something pretty big.

The American Cancer Society has been working to end cancer for more than a century. We’re not there yet, but we’ve made some incredible progress thanks to the support of amazing and passionate fundraisers like you.
