THE STORY:

Thank you for visiting my Tough Mudder fundraising page! I am excited to have the opportunity to challenge myself physically and run 10 miles with 18 obstacles while raising money for the American Cancer Society. My goal is to raise $1000 and I would greatly appreciate your help!

Why am I running?

Last year on August 25, 2016, I lost my gramps after his battle with small cell carcinoma of the lung and liver cancer. Gramps remains one my favorite people in the world and continues to impact who I am today and who I strive to be. It was well known that my name for him was "Strongest Gramps". He loved the gym and staying in shape - at any age, he could easily pick me up in a fireman's hold as a test of his strength. He remained an active 'gym rat' throughout his battle and was still capable of picking me up even at his 65th birthday after 6 months of chemo (seen in my fundraiser photo). Most importantly, he continued to witness his faith by encouraging us to face the everyday challenges and battles by others to F.R.O.G. (Fully Rely on God).

While this race is nothing compared to how tough the battle with cancer truly is, I am humbled by the opportunity to run in his memory, as well as, in encouragement to others who have or are currently facing this disease.

What can you do?

Donate! Help me to raise $1000 for the American Cancer Society so they can put funds towards things like cancer research, patient support, prevention information, and treatment. If you would like to see a breakdown of where their money goes please visit: https://www.cancer.org/research/infographics-gallery/where-does-money-go.html

Pray for the health of those who are currently battling cancer as well as the continued health of those who have defeated cancer. Please also pray for peace and strength for everyone affected by cancer; the patient, their family, and their friends.
