Goals and growth
August 20, 2017
BENEFITING: American Cancer Society
ORGANIZER: American Cancer Society
EVENT: Tough Mudder Houston 2017
WHY I RUN:
In May, my dad was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer. Since then, he has been undergoing chemo treatments, and continues to fight like the superhero I think he is! I am inspired by his unwavering faith in Christ, incredible strength, and endurance throughout this process. In honor of him, I am training my own strength, endurance, and discipline with the goal of completing 10 miles and 20 obstacles in the Tough Mudder.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
1) Donate! Help me reach my goal of raising $1,000. If you (or you and a group of friends!) donates $50, you will get to choose which obstacle you are "sponsoring" for me! (Just comment which obstacle you'd like to sponsor with your donation on this page.) If you donate less than $50, then I'll pool your donation with others so you still have a chance to "sponsor" an obstacle. :)
For being a "sponsor," you will receive updates on my training, a picture of the obstacle (hopefully with me on it!) and a hand-written letter describing how I felt while on it. (Trust me, the entertainment will be worth the $50.) Available obstacles include:
-Funky Monkey, The Revolution
-Arctic Enema, The Rebirth
-The Reach Around
-The Block Ness Monster
-Birth Canal (sponsored by the Krestas)
-Balls to the Wall
-Kiss of Mud 2.0
-Shawshanked (sponsored by Jani Maselli and Michael Mark)
-Hold Your Wood 2.0
-Mud Mile 2.0
See more about each obstacle at https://toughmudder.com/obstacles
2) Pray!!! Pray for me, my health, and training. Pray for my dad, his miraculous healing, and endurance throughout his chemo treatments. Pray for your friends and family members whose lives have somehow been drastically altered by cancer. This disease is terrible, but the love of Christ and the Church ALWAYS wins, no matter what the outcome.
Thank you so much for visiting this page! It is a joy and blessing to look forward to this race, even while life is messy and tough. God bless!
