So, apparently we have decided to be THOSE people training for a marathon (and hopefully crossing the finish line). You know, those people who are constantly complaining about how hungry we are and the blisters on our feet. At first, this was a selfish decision. Prove to ourselves we can do something most people will never even say they've attempted. Great, right? But on one of those long, miserable (lets be honest), runs, we had an epiphany. There are so many things in this world more important than this run, than accomplishing something for my own satisfaction. So, what could we do? Well, we are going to raise some money. And we will most likely bother you on a regular basis to help us out. We're setting the bar high and shooting for the stars to raise $10,000 for the American Childhood Cancer Organization. Waking up at 4 a.m with no sleep, after long work days, with graduate school, the blisters, the double-digit mile runs, the cramps, the (dreaded) runner's stomach, all of that, is nothing compared to what these children and families experience day in and day out. Help us help these sweet babies. Let's bring awareness, let's fund more research, let's find a cure. We want to help in the only way we know how to in making sure that the pain of childhood cancer will one day be the pain of the past, and that those fighting this awful disease are not forgotten.
