Diabetes kills more Americans each year than breast cancer and AIDS combined. Nearly 30 million people in the United States have diabetes with another 86 million Americans have prediabetes and are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes.
For women, diabetes can be especially hard. The burden of diabetes on women is unique because the disease can affect both mothers and their unborn children. Diabetes can cause difficulties during pregnancy such as a miscarriage or a baby born with birth defects. Women with diabetes are also more likely to have a heart attack, and at a younger age, than women without diabetes.
We are extremely excited to be a part of Revlon’s LOVE IS ON Challenge and help support our dedication to women’s health. All funds raised will go directly to supporting our mission!
