I'm very excited to share with you that on November 5, 2017, I will again be hitting the streets of my favorite city to run the New York City Marathon! In 2015 I ran my first NYC Marathon and probably made every rookie mistake in the book (barely made it in time to my corral, didn't eat or hydrate properly, and was way too starstruck when I realized I was running right next to Ethan Hawke- although who wouldn't be?). I'm ready for a second try this November.
Another big piece of my motivation to run this year is the organization I'll be running for - Americares. As many of you know, access to good, quality healthcare is a serious issue for low-income families and for those who live in poverty. Americares supports and operates over 4,000 free clinics around the world, including clinics in every US state and four clinics here in our home state of Connecticut. Additionally, Americares sends emergency medical teams whenever disaster strikes around the world, tending to those who are most vulnerable and most in need. And I'd be remiss not to mention that Jenny works there too and given how politicized healthcare has become, is proud to be helping those struggling to get by with access to medicines and care.
I hope you'll consider a donation to Americares, and thank you so much for all your support.
Thank you again, I hope to see you in November in NYC!
