EVENT DATE: Nov 03, 2013
Hi All -
It has been a year - hard to believe! Again I am running for AmeriCares, a great organization that does many wonderful things including making deliveries of lifesaving medical and disaster aid to help people in crisis.
Last year you were all so supportive of this organization - thank you. Sadly and ironically, as Hurricane Sandy wreaked havoc, we all witnessed immediately how our support for Americares was put to use as they delivered aid to disaster victims across the region.
The photo to the left is of the team (yes, me and the youngsters) that I ran with - the day of the cancelled marathon - around Staten Island to deliver supplies and clean up demolished homes and properties. In the aftermath of the disaster, it was good to see everyone pull together and reach out to do what they could to help.
As I've said before what I love about Americares is their ability to leverage every $1 donated to deliver $20 in aid. Here is a message from Americares.... Thank you!
