UPDATE: The NYRR and the City rightly cancelled this year's marathon so the City can focus on recovery efforts. However, these funds are still desperately needed to support the work in the hardest hit areas. Please contribute what you can.
This weekend, I will run the ING NYC Marathon. This race is an incredible celebration of an amazing City that I am so proud to call home. As you know, New York City has been hard hit by a terrible storm and this race will take place in its shadows. I am dedicating my race to all of those who have suffered and ask you to support me with a financial donation.
AmeriCares emergency response experts are closely monitoring Hurricane Sandy and are delivering medicines, first aid kits, cleaning products, flashlights and other relief supplies to the hardest hit communities up and down the East Coast.
AmeriCares relief workers have reached out to more than 100 health clinics, food banks and other agencies with offers of assistance. The global health and disaster relief organization also has aid workers ready to be deployed at a moment’s notice.
Please click Donate to support of the relief efforts. Any amount will help. If it's within your budget, please consider at least $1 per mile-- $26.20.
