#AMPLIFY LGBTQ History (Month) In Western PA
Organized by: Sue Kerr
LGBT History Month 2017
October 07, 2017
Since May 2015, #AMPLIFY has been sharing the lived experiences of LGBTQ neighbors throughout Western Pennsylvania as a series of blog posts. During LGBT History Month, we are focusing on fundraising to help us continue engaging the community and building the trust necessary for their investment of their story.
We have two fundraising events scheduled this month - a collection of "stuff" at Goodwill in Lawrenceville (10/14) and a Guest Bartender event at James Street Gastropub (10/24) and we are excited about both.
We hope to raise funds specifically tied to LGBT History Month because that's one essential component of our project. We are documenting history and creating history by doing so.
Being able to to show foundation and larger donors that we have support from the community is vital to earning their support. We'd really like to get one donation from each of the 26 counties this month.
As of October 2017, we have published 233 Q&A's from LGBTQ neighbors throughout Western Pennsylvania.
