Hello, As you know the 2012…
Hello,

As you know the 2012 NYC Marathon was cancelled in the aftermath of hurricane Sandy. In addition to the problems caused by the storm, information and details about the cancellation were not provided right away and we were therefore unable to provide any updates to you. Only recently did we receive concrete information as to what would happen to our fundraising efforts and potential participation in the 2013 NYC Marathon.

I am writing to thank you again for your donations to the American Heart Association in support of Team Heartosaurus. Your generosity was very much appreciated and the funds went to a cause that is dear to all of us.

I'm happy to inform you that NYRR announced that they will be permitting us to run this November in the 2013 NYC Marathon. We'll be carrying your spirit throughout the summer during our training and on race day, November 3rd.

Follow the blog and facebook page to keep abreast of our training and be part of the fun. On race day there will be a live video feed on www.heartosaurus.com. You can direct any questions to nycmarathon@heartosaurus.com. Please visit the site if you're interested in reading about past or present developments related to the Marathon:

Hello there my fellow fundraisers!!!

I am a week away from race day and extremely close to my goal!!! I wanted to send a final thank you to all of you for helping me get here. I am thiiiisssssss ----------><----------- closssse to my goal and would not be able to say so if it wasn't for each and everyone of you.

I would have exceeded my pledge amount today if I had not been rained out of my fundraiser!!! I have been awake all night baking every night for the last week and a half and having fundraisers daily all day when I'm not in class & sometimes skipping class to fund raise.

Already a few of you have donated more than once... (& I was so hoping that I would not have to send out this part of my thank you email....) I am reaching out to all of you to see if you could find it in your heart to give just once more simple small donation of $10. I was really hoping that at the end of today's fundraiser I could begin focusing on getting rest for race day! 26.2 miles is a long way to run even for the most advanced runners.

Thank you again for your already overwhelming support!! I & the American Heart Association thank you from the very bottom of our hearts!!

Love to you all!!

Race day is coming up quickly & it will make it that much easier to finish when the going gets tough when I think of everyone backing me & what I'm doing.

JULY VOTE FOR YOU!! Hopefully a successful one for you and your projects! :D Much Respect :D

To try and help ease the suffering during these hard times, I am raising money for the CAPUCHIN SOUP KITCHEN in Detroit as well as a DOLLAR DRIVE for FORGOTTEN HARVEST.. Both two incredible groups of HUGE HEARTED people that dedicate their time and lives to fill the bellies and ease the pain of the endlessly growing homeless population and destitution..

EVERY DOLLAR goes a LONG way, and any donations or support you could help out with, truly means SO much!

Thank you..

CROWDRISING SINCE: May 24, 2012
Stuff About Me:

ABOUT ME:  I am a student, avid reader, and active community volunteer.  I am the real deal “coal-miner’s daughter” from WV who moved around a lot working in the banking business.  My mother and I spent a lot of time when I was a child helping out the less fortunate in our area by visiting and spending time with people.  She instilled within me the importance of helping others around you.

I am a runner less than a year and being the enthusiastic reader that I am when I find a new interest, I came across an inspiring book, Barefoot in November, written by a man who had ran the NYC marathon exactly one year after having open heart surgery.  That man was Benjamin Carey.  I instantly struck a connection with the author and his need to help inspire others to do the same as he had done.  My grandmother died from congestive heart failure and my grandfather suffered from multiple heart attacks.  My father, too, suffered from several heart attacks in his early forties.  He has since made some lifestyle changes that have given him an excellent bill of heart health this year.

I, myself, had my own brush with death 2 years ago which had led me on a path to a healthier happier lifestyle.  Having that experience made life so much more precious in every moment that I have here.  I started running for my life, literally.  I have since moved back to my home state that ranks #1 in heart disease in the country with a 10.40% share of the population having heart disease.  Here I am actively involved in the community by promoting the importance of nutrition, activity, & literacy.  I also am working on my BSA in Biology/Pre-Medical studies.  It was through my volunteer work at The Bowery Mission in NYC that I realized the need for a career change more suited to my passions of helping others.

Please help me in my cause to raise awareness of heart disease by clicking on DONATE button in orange at the top right of my page.  My minimum fundraising goal is to raise $100, 35 times!  Every dollar gets me closer.  I know that we can do this together and you can rest easy knowing you are contributing to a cause that is close to all of our hearts.  As I can guess that there is not one of us, especially in WV, that have not been hurt or affected by heart disease.

Thank you ahead of time for your love, support & contribution!
