I have been selected to run the Boston Marathon on April 16, 2018 as an employee runner of Manulife/John Hancock. I have started my training and am really excited and honoured be able to run this amazing course for the second time. I ran Boston in April 2015 and it was my first marathon. I went from 5K to a full marathon in under six months. This time around, I am hoping to train hard and set a personal best.
I have accepted the challenge to raise $2500 for Easter Seals. Easter Seals is Canada’s largest local provider of programs, services, issues-leadership and development for the disability community. Since 1922, they have worked to enhance the quality of life, self-esteem and self-determination of all Canadians living with disabilities. Did you know, more than 5.3 million Canadians—16% of the population in this country—are living with some form of disability that affects their level of freedom, independence or quality of life. Living with a disability can be complex, difficult and expensive, placing tremendous strain and stress on an individual or family.
I am reaching out to ask for your sponsorship and support as I tackle the challenge of both running in Boston and for raising these much needed and important funds for Easter Seals.
Thank you in advance for your support! Wish me luck as I gear up for training...in the winter : P
