Meet Ruby. She is a 2 year old Fox Red Labrador Retreiver that was rescued from the Lake County Animal Shelter the day she would have been euthanized. The poor girl was found on the side of the road severely mannourished. Although she had obviously had puppies recently, they were nowhere to be found. A Lab Rescue volunteer saw her at the shelter and knew she had to be saved. She went to work contacting our network to find her a foster home, transportation to the vet and then to her temporary home. At the vet, she was evaluated, bathed, microchipped, vaccinated and spayed. They discovered that although she has a couple of health issues that are treatable, with loving care and lots of good food and water, she will be able to go to her "furever home" in just a few short weeks.
Ruby is progressing nicely, putting on weight, and gaining her confidence back. She is going to fill the gap in someones' life in just a few weeks, and become the family member they didn't even know they were missing. All thanks to the wonderful team of volunteers...and of course the generous donations we receive.
LRROF's Friends and Family Fundraiser is our annual campaign asking you, our family, friends & co-workers, to offer a donation to our non-profit organization. LRROF volunteers work hard each & every day to save the lives of over 700 dogs a year. All funds donated through this fundraiser will be matched, up to $10,000. That means every $1 donated is really $2, every $5 is really $10! $10 pays for a vaccination, $100 a full office visit with vaccinations, $150 can pay for a spay/neuter, $250 a heartworm treatment & $500 or more could pay for a life threatening surgery! All money donated to LRROF goes back to the animals!
