EVENT DATE: Apr 15, 2012
I've decided to run the More/Fitness Half Marathon. That's right, l'm running 13.1 miles...in one day! It's technically part of my job, thanks to my brand AVEENO, which is one of the sponsors. While this is supposed to be for fun (running is fun?!) I wanted to put my efforts towards an amazing cause. I'm running to support The Hole in the Wall Camps.
Please make a donation to support my participation in the race and to help children and their families coping with cancer, sickle cell anemia, and other serious illnesses.
The camps all began with a brilliant idea coupled with a little bit of luck and a whole lot of laughter. Actor and philanthropist Paul Newman’s dream of opening a camp for children with serious medical conditions became a reality in 1988- a whimsical camp for children with serious medical conditions. He envisioned the camps as places where children could escape the fear, pain and loneliness of their conditions, kick back and “raise a little hell.” Today it is a global family of camps and more than 200,000 children and families have received the restorative support of a Hole in the Wall Camp experience, always free of charge.
I hope to see you on April 15 in Central Park!
