THE STORY:

Hello my name is Amy and I'm an alcoholic. I, to date Sept 27, 2016, am 48 days clean and sober. In July I hit rock bottom, and was in denial that I could continue on this dark path and bring myself out of it with no help. Finally on my knees surrendering everything I had left in me, I entered treatment to help me with this ugly, fatal disease. I completed 28 days at Turning Point recovery center with actual hopes of staying 60 days. With insurance cutting me off I had no other option but to leave and go back to "normal" life. I have never been more terrified in my entire life, going back to the same room that felt like my black hole, going back to the same job that I loved but was so close in proximity of every liquor store I would frequent on a daily basis and then just like that God needed another angel and our grandfather was gone. I have moved to a sober living facility and have not felt more safe in a very long time. The more time I spend working an honest strong program of sobriety the less money i am making to afford this safe place. One of my biggest character defects is not asking for help. Writing this now, I am terrified, I feel ashamed that I can't fight this disease on my own and that I am asking for help to raise money for rent to stay here. I am currently applying for jobs and plan on working as soon as I can but in the meantime I need help. If you can, I would appreciate any help, comfort and support you can give. Financial, verbal, digital, carrier pigeon I appreciate everything so much more nowadays, brighter, sunnier, life is beautiful. Thank you so much for taking the time to even read this. Please know every one of you are a blessing to me. Thank you, xoxo Amy
