My name is Amy. I am originally from western Massachusetts- so no matter how long I've lived in Florida, my ties to New England and it's sports teamswill always run deep. I met Doug Flutie for the first time when I was about 11 years old when he was playing for the Patriots. Just the quick hello and "thanks for being a fan" was all that pre-teener "Flutie" crazed gal needed! I watched him play for Boston College, become a Patriot, and later on became the philanthropist he is.
Doug had a son with autism, and soon thereafter established the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism. He began raising money through local appearances and began a 5k annual run for the fund. That's where I began my journey on becoming an ironman triathlete. My love for running combined with a heart for charity made me realize that racing is not only for my journey but it also gives me a voice. I am proud to now partner up with Doug & family and hope you will too! The kids you meet are amazing & every dollar earned will aid in their education and also in research towards a cure for autism.
