Just over a year ago my sweet niece posted on Facebook, photos from Neema House, an orphanage for abandoned or otherwise at-risk babies and toddlers, in Arusha, Tanzania to which her Bible School was sending their donations.

And a seed was planted.

Now that seed is flowering and my sis Katy, her daughter Theresa (that niece!) and I are going to volunteer for two weeks (23 October - 9 November) at Neema House! We will primarily be providing routine daily care for the babies, such as feeding, bathing and cuddling, but could also accompany the babies on doctor visits and/or help with other tasks. It is the only orphanage in the area devoted exclusively to babies and also has as its goal the reuniting of the babies with their families or finding stable, loving homes for adoption.

I am NOT asking for money for my trip, as I am completely funding that myself, but part of the volunteer process is to sponsor donations for Neema House, so I am asking you to prayerfully consider a gift to support Neema House and their care of these tiny and vulnerable babies. The founders and other administrators of Neema House receive no part of the donations, so all money raised goes to the babies and the local women working there.
