I started my triathlon journey as a couch potato… I always loved to watch others compete in different kind of sports and imagining myself to do the same someday was just unthinkable. But,
I was first introduced to Triathlons back in 2010 after completing my first full marathon in New York City. Prior to that as part of my training I ran numerous half marathons.
Most of my great and very inspiring running partners were triathletes and they managed to convince me to sign up for the first Sprint Triathlon of the year in 2011.Back then I was like a dead fish in the water and could not swim properly, not to mention my fear of putting my head under the water. But, somehow I was able to make a very fearless decision and sign up with the local U.S. Masters Swimming Club. They were great and they helped me to get rid of my fears in the water. As a result, after 3 months of hard training, lots of doubts and dedication I completed my first triathlon ever! It was an incredibly great feeling and surprise to me how I got hooked right away. Since then, I have made my way through various events and distances and finally decided to fulfill my biggest dream and take the leap of faith and sign up for my first full 140.6 IRONMAN.
2015 is going to be very exciting and eventful for me as I also signed up for my second half Ironman which will be in Haines City, Florida in April as part of my training program.
As many of you know I have already been part of a big fundraising program for Team for Kids (New York Road Runners’ Foundation). Previously with your amazing support and generosity I raised over $3,000.00 for that organization.
This time I have partnered with The IRONMAN Foundation's Your Journey, Your Cause program and asking for your generous support again to help raise money for The ARC of Martin County who Advocates for the Rights of the Challenged!
Please check out The ARC of Martin County’s website at www.arcmc.com for their marvelous support and assistance through their numerous programs offered to over 450 children and adults with a multitude of various challenges. Your generous donation will be well spent and will help to pay for essential costs ~ i.e. dental services, after-school programs, transportation vehicles and its fuel, as well as to send kids to camps and supporting club activities and so forth.
Thank you in advance for helping me to support The ARC of Martin County! Regardless of the amount of your donation, your contribution is very important and deeply appreciated!!!
