BENEFITING: AUTISM SPEAKS
EVENT DATE: Apr 18, 2014
I will be running for my son Connor who was diagnosed with ASD (Autism) earlier this year. We are very fortunate that our military insurance covers his care. As we discover more about this condition, we are finding that there are so many children/adults with Autism or an ASD who are either having to pay enormous amounts of money out of pocket for their daily therapies or they are simply having to go without any therapy at all. It is a terrible disservice to these people to have to go without these therapies. I can tell you all firsthand how much of a difference we have seen in Connor since he began his therapies a few months ago. He is speaking nonstop and seeking social interactions. He is HAPPY! 1 in 88 children will be diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum disorder and the ratio is even smaller for boys. With ratios that small it is very likely that we all know someone who has been touched by Autism. So I am asking you all to help. Anything you can contribute could help with Autism research and funding. !LIGHT IT UP!!!
