HI Everyone -

What a day and what a run. While the weather was far from ideal, I'm happy to let you know that it did not slow me down. In fact, had goal of completing the race in 3:15:00 and am happy to report that I crossed the finish line in 3:12:44. Yes, my 14th Boston Marathon and 28th marathon overall, is now in the books.

Beyond the race itself, I have to say that there was something really special about this year. Up to this point, running marathons has been very much of a solo endeavor for me, and being part of the BWH team has been a really incredible experience. Throughout this process I have met so many great people and heard so many amazing stories about. In short, the impact that BWH has had on so many people's lives, including my own, is just incredible and it was truly an honor to represent them on my run yesterday.

For those of you that are interested, the following is a link, http://www.boston.com/news/opinion/2015/04/21/boston-marathon-you-can-stop/dbeeYlSPbPEegtyeOgMFbJ/story.html , to my post-marathon article that I wrote for Boston.com and provides you with some additional insight as to my perspective on the day.

Again, thank you all so very, very much. Your support of my efforts has not only helped to provide funding for world class institution, but on personal note has made the 2015 Boston Marathon one that will never forget.

Best,
Ty

Hi Everyone -

Well, with just a week to go until the marathon, I wanted to let you know that all is going well and I'm getting ready for race day. I'm feeling great and really looking forward to the race. I'm now just hoping that the "weather gods" are on our side as well.

As for my fundraising its coming along very, very well and I cannot thank you all enough. Your collective support has been a huge boost to me this training season.

I also wanted to share some exciting news with you all. My story about my family's connection to BWH was recently featured in their employee newsletter that is distributed throughout the hospital and online. You can read the story here - http://bwhbulletin.org/2015/03/27/marathoner-with-a-mission-to-support-the-hospital-close-to-his-heart/ .

Additionally, next Sunday, I have been asked to be a featured speaker at the annual Marathon Pasta Dinner that occurs the evening before the race. Needless to say, I'm very heartened by the impact my family's story has had on those at BWH as well as us personally, and the fact that they have asked us to share it with the entire extended team is true a heartfelt honor.

Finally, for those that are interested in tracking my progress on Race Day, I'm #7672 and the options to for how you want to track me are here - http://www.baa.org/races/boston-marathon/participant-information/att-athlete-alert.aspx .

Again, thank you so much for all for your support. I'm truly honored to have you all as part of my team!!

Best,
Ty
