BENEFITING: EPILEPSY FOUNDATION OF GEORGIA INC
EVENT DATE: Jul 01, 2016
Hello Friends, We are raising money for the youth in our community and as we expand we hope to contribute to other communities as well. Last year we hosted our first football camp for FREE for the high school students in Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina and paid for it ourselves and it was successful! This year we have been asked to open it up to the community and we are seeking help to make this happen again. We have also added a 3 week IT camp for elementary students to attend this year. Every year we hope to earn enough money to add more programs for the youth in the community to help empower, educate and provide more opportunities for them. By gaining exposure to new technology we are able to show children that their possibilities are endless and they can create a better future for themselves. The access to a well of knowledge provided to them by our motivational speakers who played Professional sports to CIO's and Directors of Information technology is priceless. All of these camps have been together by Maurice Simpkins, a Senior Programmer Analyst for Suffolk University and former NFL player of the Green Packers and St. Louis Rams. Through his love and commitment to his Grandfather, Andrew Simpkins, he has opened a Non-profit in his grandfathers name to continue making a positive impact in the lives of others as his grandfather did for him. Please help us make a difference and help our youth reach heights they never could have imagined without people like Maurice Simpkins who are so willing to give back.
