Andy was 20 years old when he volunteered for "Freedom Summer," a project to register African-American voters in the deep south in 1964. Andy was a young, passionate activist who believed in doing what he could to encourage America to live up to it's promise of freedom, justice and equal opportunity for all people. On his first day in Mississippi, while returning from inspecting a church that had been fire-bombed, Andy and his two companions were murdered.
Today, The Andrew Goodman Foundation seeks to inspire, educate and recognize ordinary people who are taking extra-ordinary actions to address today's social, environmental and economic injustices.
Your donation to this cause will help to implement, encourage and support social action that gets results! Visit www.andrewgoodman.org to learn what is already in the works and to make suggestions and volunteer to help change the world!
