Andrew's Run for the Achievement Gap
Organized by: Andrew Cooper
The quality of a child's eduction should not be determined by the zip code in which s/he lives--and it is. Children who live in low-income communities face an achievement "gap" in educational success compared to their more affluent peers. I am a teacher in a low-income Salt Lake City community. I am devoted to my students and raising money to ramp up the quality of education that my elementary school provides. To do so, I will undertake the run of my life--the "Rim-to-Rim-to-Rim" 42-mile run into, out of, into, and out of the Grand Canyon. My fundraising goal is connected to my time goal for the run: $10,000 in 10 hours. Support my quest!
