BENEFITING: Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers
EVENT: Columbia, SC Sept. 18, 2015
EVENT DATE: Sep 18, 2015
This fundraiser is in honor of all the men and women who rushed into danger on 9/11 when the twin towers were attacked. Instead of running away from danger, the firefighters, EMS workers and law enforcement officers rushed into danger to help as many people as they could. For the ones who passed away will always be heroes and remembered for the sacrifice they made. What has inspired me to start this fundraiser comes from a personal goal that I have set. I am 26 years old, and on June 17th I had open heart surgery performed and a mechanical valve placed into my heart. I was released on July 29th to start cardiac rehab. Roughly that gives me 50 days to regain my strength and to start running again. I've been a Marine for a little over 9 years and deployed to Iraq in 2008-2009. For a 5K to honor the sacrifices of all the true heroes our children should look up to, this run has a special place in my heart. So help me in raising money to give back to those in need. Thank you and God bless.
