I am inspired to raise money for The Heroes Project, and hopefully participate in LA's Cycle For Heroes event, for three reasons. First, like many fellow veterans, I've had too many friends come home from serving abroad to little help or recognition for their service. I want to honor the sacrifices these heroes have made to our nation and do right by our current military members by doing what I can do provide for their continued support and care. Second, I've also had friends not come home from serving abroad and I want to honor their memory. Third, I am applying the life lessons I've learned from my brother Jay and his wife Katy. Jay & Katy are disabled Americans who DO NOT EVER let life get them down. No, they were not injured as part of military service...but being confined to a wheelchair (Jay) and having to wear prosthetic limbs (Katy) are disabilities they share with many veterans helped by this program. Whether you're a fellow veteran, a former student of mine, a teaching colleague, or a good friend...kindly join me in my quest to support The Heroes Project and their noble mission via the Cycle For Heroes LA event!
