BENEFITING: Asperger's Association of New England, Inc.
EVENT DATE: Apr 18, 2016
This April 18th, Andy Novis, an artist, adult with ASD, and endurance athlete, will run his 69th marathon. Since 2012, Andy has been involved with the Asperger/Autism Network, an organisation which seeks to empower individuals with Aspergers and autism-spectrum related conditions. As he prepares for his 24th Boston Marathon, Andy seeks to spread the message about the physical and mental benefits of running and other forms of exercise. For those on the autism spectrum, structured exercise can serve as an outlet as well as social opportunity. By running for AANE, Andy hopes to encourage others to tap into their own potential and utilize their individual strengths. Donations to AANE will go towards empowering people on the autism spectrum in education, work, social opportunities, and artistic pursuits.
