Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I'm excited to be running the 2018 Boston Marathon on behalf of Boston Medical Center!
The rush of emotions I felt as I crossed the finish line of Grandma's Marathon last June was truly overwhelming -- I'd earned my first BQ time, a goal that once seemed impossible for a kid with a misshapen spine and chronic back pain. But I did it, and I'm excited to be using the fulfillment of this longtime dream -- running Boston -- to help make a difference in the community I've called home since 2014.
When I first moved to Boston, I lived a block from Boston Medical Center, and I saw, first-hand, the impact the hospital made in the city. Although it may not be as well known as other hospitals in Boston, BMC makes an incredible difference in the lives of thousands of people -- people from all walks of life. As the largest safety-net hospital and trauma center in all of New England, BMC will see you no matter who you are or where you came from -- "exceptional care, without exception," as its mission statement says.
Please join me in supporting BMC. Thank you!
PS: If you'd like to challenge me in the months leading up to the race, consider donating $1 per training mile I run. Let me know, and I'd be happy to share my GPS-tracked running log on Strava.com!
