I Did It!
May 09, 2017
I wanted to write this note to share that I am 40 years young this year and am celebrating by running my 3rd marathon (first since having 2 kiddos). I wanted a race that would be memorable, unique and close enough to bring along my cheering squad, so...
I'll be running the Big Sur International Marathon on April 30th. Big Sur is the largest rural marathon in the world, winding through redwoods, paralleling ranches, and offering stunning views of the Pacific Ocean.
In conjunction with running the race, I have also committed to raising a minimum of $1,500 to support Autism Speaks and its mission to raise awareness and funds for autism research and programs.
I personally have a family member who is on the autism spectrum, and my heart has always wanted to help in some meaningful way. In hearing some of the family's struggles, from shopping at Target to dealing with school administrations, I have become more aware of the challenges that parents of an autistic child may face daily.
As such, I am asking you to consider donating to my fund if you are able. Of course, any contribution is greatly appreciated and goes toward supporting a noble cause. I appreciate you taking the time to read this. And I very much appreciate your support.
